(Indianapolis) – Looking for an unusual, yet practical gift this holiday season? Planned Parenthood of Indiana (PPIN) is now offering gift certificates for services or the recipient’s choice of birth control method.

Some Hoosiers 24-Hour News 8 talked to asked if the gift certificates could be used towards abortions. The answer is yes. But, Planned Parenthood said that’s not the purpose of the gift certificates. More here.

“Indiana Family Institute President Curt Smith said he is appalled by the certificates.
“I think the way to help family planning is to give the money where there’s no agenda. So if somebody wants to help a woman at a time of crisis, they can support the life centers throughout Indiana,” said Smith.
Planned Parenthood hopes philanthropists look at it differently. The organization hopes people might purchase the certificates, and then turn them back in for their patients who need reproductive healthcare, but can’t pay for it.

“The two main sources for Planned Parenthood funding …are the $50 Million plus Planned Parenthood gets annually through the Title X program, and the estimated $50 Million plus Planned Parenthood gets annually through the Medicaid program.”
Somehow, taxpayer-funding for abortions is not enough to keep these baby-killers going!

Maybe birth control didn’t exist when you were in college, and everyone who had sex dropped out to raise their children…
But when I went to school, planned parenthood was where just about everyone went for Birth Control and STD screenings.
If you didn’t have awesome medical insurance or your parents would flip at the thought of you having sex, they provided the one avenue for you to get what you needed – knowledgeable medical advice and reasonably priced birth control.
You folks might be astounded at how many abortions their services *prevent.*
You know, this just get’s worse and worse every frickin’ year. These morons are not “PRO-CHOICE” they are “PRO-ABORTION”. The terms somehow got fricked up in the last few years.
Its not exactly rocket science boys and girls, if you’ve ever HAD children and ever had an ultrasound, you cannot dispute little hands, legs, arms and heads. I don’t give a shit what your definition of “conception” is, I lost twin girls at just under three months and got to hold them in my hands as they died (this was almost 30 years ago, they would have lived today) and they didn’t look like any random “mass of tissue”. I’m not terribly outspoken on abortion, as I know it’s a terribly emotional subject, but at least set aside the hype and the bullshit, it’s a frickin’ kid you just KILLED. Be honest enough to admit it, if you’re gonna do it.
As for planned parenthood, I NEVER had a problem with them helping with birth control & dispensing birth control pills, as that prevents the problem of abortion becoming an issue.

I simply made an observation/comment on a topic on this blog espousing my own personal thoughts, beliefs and experiences, and my disapointment in the marketing plans of planned parenthood.
My girls were born premature at a little less than three months, not nine, hence I guess I am not an idiot as you stated, as you can get an abortion at 3 months, correct??
As for your disdain for welfare recipients, is it your theory had we simply aborted them we wouldn’t have people “gaming” the welfare system?

Pro Choice/Pro Abortion – Normally when you are busy pointing a finger at someone else, you usually forget about the other three pointing right back at you, but it appears you are too busy pointing the finger at everyone else to even stop and look within yourself. Perhaps you are just angry with yourself for murdering a child? My God, if you were married and already had children and you chose to murder one…..there are so many decent families that would have loved to have adopted that child.

Am I reading you correctly? Your daughters were born at 3 months? The world record for premature birth, to my understanding, is 21 weeks gestation.

I actually have to interject here… I was born 3 months and a day premature almost 33 years ago and I was very touch and go for the first month, I had really good doctors, I am blessed by that regard and extended sacrifice the staff at St. Joseph and Parkview made so many years ago.
As far as the gift certificates it would be one way for a mother to provide money to their child for reproductive issues (not abortions) without handing over cash. As we are headed to a cashless society you are going to see gift cards become a norm to restrict where kids use money.
I am both Pro Life and Pro Choice It is possible to be both. I think that while it should remain legally accessible each infanticide needs to be scrutinized under medical ethics in a hospital and not in the backroom of a Clinic, where there is hardly medical supervision or ethics.
My condolences Tim! For what it is worth, I know how I felt when my mom lost my twin baby brothers at 6 months, I can only begin to imagine what you still go through.
