I got this email today from a response to one of my “Sex Offenders of the Day” posts.
With regard to the so-called problem of internet predators, please read the reports from the University of New Hampshire and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that show the incidence of so-called internet solicition is on the decline and has been over the past few years. It is simply not likely for a “child” to be solicited over the internet as it was years ago. Law enforcement is fabricating many of these “solicitation” cases by posing as “children” in chat rooms. I know of at least one case where a decoy cop was in an adult-only chat room and I wonder just what a “child” - real or not - would be doing in an adult-only chat room that uses age verification? Law enforcement does this to pad their numbers so they can get funding, but they are entrapping innocent people who are doing nothing wrong. We need to stop the hype and scare tactics that law enforcement and the media are using. Please read the reports. Thank you.

Kaitlyn, all I can tell you is this. Your dead wrong. I bet one of those so called “cases” involved someone you knew. If they didn’t have ill-intent Kaitlyn, what the hell were they doing there in the first place? Looking for sex, period, E.O.D.
The recidivism rate for child molesters is at an all-time high. Law enforcement is not fabricating anything. These men are predators, plain and simple. If they’re enticed by a “child” as you put it, they’re sick and perverted individuals. Short of my solution, we need to lock their asses up.

you’re such an idiot. but since you have so much trust in law enforcement stats, check out the u.s. department of justice’s tracking of sex offender recidivism because it certainly contradicts your inbred thinking. by the way… i’m not a sex offender nor do ipersonally know any. not a liberal either. just an average joe who is tired of hearing people spew out “facts” they can’t back up. what studies do you refer to? what organization performed them? why not post their actual findings on your site? you try to project an image of yourself here but you’re just a semi-educated good ole boy who cannot construct an argument using fundamental logic whose comments lack any insight. my guess would be that at least kaitlyn’s iq is higher than her shoe size, which is more than can said of you.
That sounds like a Bill Ayres line of crap. Of course he and Obama share the same belief that we should send these guys to school after they get out so they have their BS degree on our dime.

Prison inmates, including child molesters, already can pursue college degrees via correspondence while still behind bars. In fact they get extra good time credit if they get a degree.
Robert, I know that and I find that unacceptable. We give them a free ride on our dime while those who play by the rules, pay their taxes everyday, and are middle class get the shaft.

I know this sounds like crazy talk but print this out and let me know in four years!
I like the concept of letting felons earn degrees in prison: it’s a productive use of their time, college is actually cheaper than prison, and hopefully they can use their degree to obtain gainful employment rather than be a burden on the state.
But let’s apply some common sense:
1. There is no point in letting death row inmates and lifers earn degrees.
2. A terrorist in prison should not be allowed to obtain a degree in nuclear physics.
3. Sex offenders should not be allowed early release because of this program. I think that this program should be more geared toward finanicially motivated criminals. They need to learn that it is easier to work for a living than it is to hide from the police.

Are we not already “China’s financial whore”? Or did I miss the signing ceremony where we paid back the $520 BILLION we owe them? All in the name of “free trade”…

The very idea that you can be “entrapped” into soliciting children is ludicrous. People like Ms Johnson are a big part of the problem. I wonder what it must be like to live life as a child molester apologist?
I still think we should ban them from the city via expanding the restrictive zones around schools and parks. Until the legal system starts locking these scum up for good it’s every community for themselves…
