More political rhetorical bullsh*t from Karen Goldner
Posted by: AWB in 2008 Presidential Race, Local AssholesToday on the Allen County Dumbo-tards blog , Karen Goldner has this to say:
We have heard a lot about the Republican convention this week and congratulations to our friends on the other side of the aisle for a nice event.
But what did we NOT hear? We did NOT hear about what the Republicans plan to do for working families and to get the American economy back on track. That is too bad, because that is what this election should be about. In a democracy, politican campaigns should be about ideas. Both sides present theirs, and the voters can decide which they like better.
By the way, it’s spelled politician Karen.
If you take note, in this post she links to Obama’s web site instead of the Obamassiah’s DNC speech. What the hell did Obama have to say? Apparently nothing in his speech she cares to quote.
That’s par for the course. Just throw barbs and don’t back it up with the facts, it’s the leftard way.
From McCain’s RNC speech:
Keeping taxes low helps small businesses grow and create new jobs. Cutting the second-highest business tax rate in the world will help American companies compete and keep jobs from moving overseas. Doubling the child tax exemption from $3,500 to $7,000 will improve the lives of millions of American families. Reducing government spending and getting rid of failed programs will let you keep more of your own money to save, spend and invest as you see fit. Opening new markets and preparing workers to compete in the world economy is essential to our future prosperity.

My opponent promises to bring back old jobs by wishing away the global economy. We’re going to help workers who’ve lost a job that won’t come back find a new one that won’t go away.
We will prepare them for the jobs of today. We will use our community colleges to help train people for new opportunities in their communities. For workers in industries that have been hard hit, we’ll help make up part of the difference in wages between their old job and a temporary, lower-paid one while they receive retraining that will help them find secure new employment at a decent wage.

Sen. Obama thinks we can achieve energy independence without more drilling and without more nuclear power. But Americans know better than that. We must use all resources and develop all technologies necessary to rescue our economy from the damage caused by rising oil prices and to restore the health of our planet. It’s an ambitious plan, but Americans are ambitious by nature, and we have faced greater challenges. It’s time for us to show the world again how Americans lead.

We need to change the way government does almost everything: from the way we protect our security to the way we compete in the world economy; from the way we respond to disasters to the way we fuel our transportation network; from the way we train our workers to the way we educate our children. All these functions of government were designed before the rise of the global economy, the information technology revolution and the end of the Cold War. We have to catch up to history, and we have to change the way we do business in Washington.
Case closed. Quit telling lies Goldner, and backup your comments with facts, your credibility is on shaky ground (you’re welcome).
And now, we pause for this Red State update.

Say what? When did this crap become conservative principals? I can’t believe I have to vote for this idiot.
John,
Unless you’re for Obama’s plan to tax the shit out of companies for shipping manufacturing overseas, what is the alternative choice? Obama wants to isolate us, cutting us off from the world economy. If we let him do that, we’ll only damage the U.S. economy more than it is now.
We are in a global economy now, like it or not. The Dot-com heydays of the 90’s are long gone and most likely won’t occure for another 100 years or so. Maybe you’re to young to remember when the Japanese car companies kicked are asses all over the place in the 70’s. We were complacent, and sat on our laurals until it was practically too late.
Now is the time to re-invent. Not isolate.
Sorry Reyolds, it’s far deeper than that.
We’ve become close to becoming an island in a global economic sea.
Until the house and senate are taken back by the republicans, we’re toast.
Just say no to Obama, everything will eventually be alright.
I have an idea…. Why not buy everyone a high quality color printer. We could all print our own money, then everything would be fixed…. The WORLD IS GOOD!!!
I wonder if Oprah would release he tax papers for last year. All I want to see how much EXTRA she VOLUNTEERED to pay. Oh, I forgot she has an office full of CPAs making sure she does not pay one extra penny.
I wonder how much extra Obama sent in…
What I can not figure out most every American knows “nothing is free” yet they think all of Obama’s trash is going to be free.
Personally speaking I’m a bit taken back my Mizz Golder’s actions here of late. She perpetuated the liberal lies being told about Sarah Palin and I find that appalling for a city council person.
Maybe she doesn’t like Palin and McCain because they don’t believe in gay marriage?
Jeff (not Pruitt)
What the Democrats won’t tell you about is how Palin applies her beliefs to her job. Ask them if she into a law the provided equal health care rights for all? She did…..
It is like there claim that she vetoed the bill for the women’s house. Well that is true and not true. She line itemed vetoed the item and reduced the funding level. See in Alaska the Gov can line item veto and reduce the amount committed. If they do not over ride her reduction the lower amount is what is set forth in the budget.
It is like they say she cut the requested spending the Alaska State Police requested. What the real fact is, had the media checked, is her Director of the State Police asked for a certain amount. After looking at the overall budget she reduced their budget by $7 million. However, it was an increase over the previous year.
A part of the $7 million (which I could not find anyplace) was for additional officers and their equipment. The problem is the Director of the State Police did not have any scheduled classes for new hires to come close to the amount he was asking.
So in the end we find the following…. Nothing like dishing up part of the facts.
