Fort Wayne City Council member helps liberal bloggers spread lies
Posted by AWB in UncategorizedIn the post prior to this I showed just how far the liberal left would go to spread lies and rumors about Sarah Palin. Now Karen Goldner, Fort Wayne City Councilwoman Councilman has joined in the fray linking to one of the blogs spreading this bullshit from the Allen County Dumbcrats blog.
Figures. Would you really expect anything less from her?

of it being a Down Syndrome pregnancy. According to Hook, E.G., Lindsjo, A.
Total risk of chromosomal damage in baby from all sources including Down Syndrome risk, is approximately double the probability of Down Syndrome – For example, 1 in 40 becomes 1 in 20. [If you already have a kid with Down Syndrome or other chromosomal damage, the risk of the next having chromosomal damage is often increased substantially, depending on the nature of the damage.]
The above information was provided to us by an obstetrician. The statistics mostly came from “Update 12, Prenatal Screening for Down Syndrome, Age Specific Performance…”.

2… Father’s Age (Paternal Age), and Down Syndrome Risk Factor of kid Being Born with Down Syndrome:
Harry Fisch and others, over the period 1983 to 1997, investigated 3,429 cases of Down Syndrome in relation to father’s age.
The researchers found that fathers over 40 years of age, when having kids to women aged over 35 years, had twice the Down syndrome risk factor, when compared with men 24 years of age and younger also having kids to women aged over 35 years. If the women were under 35 years of age, the father’s age had no effect on whether it would be a Down Syndrome pregnancy.
For mothers over 40 years of age, the researchers discovered that an increase of 50% in Down syndrome risk factor was caused by the advanced age of the father.
SO, THE BIGGEST CAUSE OF DOWN SYNDORM PREGNANCY IS THE ADVANCED AGE OF EITHER OR BOTH THE MOTHER AND FATHER.
Forgive the two typos; it is after midnight!!!
Denise,
Thanks for doing the research on that – I posted a comment on the previous post “The liberal bloggers will stop at nothing – lies and more lies†stating that women over the age of 35 run a higher risk of having a child with Down Syndrome. It is common knowledge and you are given all of this information when you are pregnant. Tests are run to determine the health of the baby and to see if it is indeed a child with Down Syndrome. This is done early in pregnancy and parents are given the opportunity to continue with the pregnancy or no. I knew this because I was 34 soon to be 35 when my last child was born and they went ahead and did the extra testing. Not that there was a decision to be made, but for some there is.
The main point I am making here is Sarah Palin most likely carried that baby knowing full well it was a Down Syndrome baby. It saddens me to know that many women in her position would have easily terminated that pregnancy and never looked back citing such things as her career and status and convenience. I respect this lady more knowing in my heart she had all the facts and made the right choice.
