That’s what Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Dennis Kucinich, Dickhead Durbin, Barbara Boxer and host of other liberals asswipes would like to do by reinstating the “Fairness Doctrine”. It all really boils down to one thing, successful conservative talk shows and failing liberal talk shows.

Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Laura Ingraham are all great success stories. They also dole out a great deal of influence. The liberals have failed miserably at talk radio and since they can’t compete, Pelosi wants to shut them down.

In 1987 the FCC abolished the fairness doctrine in part because it was in violation of the First Amendment of the Constitution, “Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press..” With Limbaugh, Hannity and others keeping the American public informed of the nasty truth about the liberal-left, they wallow in fear of an informed constituency. Pelosi and company want to force broadcasters to give equal time to the leftard troglodytes, and Indiana Congressman Mike Pence is trying to do something about it.

Last year Rep. Mike Pence (R-Indiana) introduced H.R. 2905, the “Broadcaster Freedom Act. H.R. 2905″. If this bill passed, it would end the threat of the Fairness Doctrine forever.

`SEC. 303A. LIMITATION ON GENERAL POWERS: FAIRNESS DOCTRINE.

`Notwithstanding section 303 or any other provision of this Act or any other Act authorizing the Commission to prescribe rules, regulations, policies, doctrines, standards, or other requirements, the Commission shall not have the authority to prescribe any rule, regulation, policy, doctrine, standard, or other requirement that has the purpose or effect of reinstating or repromulgating (in whole or in part) the requirement that broadcasters present opposing viewpoints on controversial issues of public importance, commonly referred to as the `Fairness Doctrine’, as repealed in General Fairness Doctrine Obligations of Broadcast Licensees, 50 Fed. Reg. 35418 (1985).’.
