Linda Pence’s campaign finance report is an interesting read. So interesting I’m chomping at the bit for the sequel
The big oil connection
One of Linda Pence’s campaign contributors is Cynthia Tuite, ($5,000 in February 2008) whose address is listed on Pence’s campaign finance reports as 6223 33rd Street NW, Washington DC 20015. It’s also the office for James Tuite, a well know Washington lawyer and lobbyist. His firm, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP lobbies for BP, Conoco Phillips and Exxon Mobil.
Doesn’t this make you wonder what the left would think if they knew someone that lobbies for big oil is piping money into their candidates pockets.
The Martha Stewart & tax dodger connections
Another well-known lawyer, Jack Tigue donated $2500 to Pence’s campaign in March 1st of this year. Tigue represented Martha Stewart who was convicted of obstructing a U.S. investigation of stock she sold and ended up serving a prison sentence as a result. Tigue also represented a partner of the accounting firm Ernst & Young, charged with tax fraud conspiracy, and Darryl Strawberry, the former All-Star outfielder turned tax dodger.
Or, how about E. Lesley Hoffman, another beltway lawyer from Washington DC. Hoffman has represents individuals in defense of criminal proceedings handling criminal cases in the U.S. District Courts and the U.S. Courts of Appeals, including actions involving complex government contract issues. On February 7th, Hoffman donated $3500 to Pence. It seems the lawyers that represent the baddest of white collar crimes stick together, eh?
This guy is accomplished. John M. Bray, yet another beltway lawyer contributed $1000 to Pence in February, 2008. Among his accomplishments.
- Successfully defended the chief defendant from a major chemical manufacturer indicted in a pesticide pollution conspiracy case in Virginia.
- Won an acquittal for an official of an international aerospace firm in the then largest ever government contract fraud case in Chicago.
- Defended corporations and their officials in Operation Ill Wind and other major federal task force cases.
- Represented corporations and their officials in complex international cases involving foreign payments and other financial transactions.
- Defended public officials including defendants in the Maryland political corruption cases of the 1970s.
- Defended one of the Nixon White House officials in the Watergate coverup case.
The Church of Scientology connection
Monique Yingling is another DC-based lawyer who donated $2500 to Pence, happens to represent the Church of Scientology in everything from tax evasion to quashing movies and web sites that expose the church for what it really is.

Wow … Linda Pence – the gift to republicans that keeps on giving.
I have a question, if someone could answer it. Is Linda related to Mike, and if so how?
Congressman Pence’s office said no relation when I called them.
