Chick with a Glock found this book in her mailbox yesterday. It arrived unsolicited from the Seventh Day Adventist. Surprisingly, you can get it on Amazon for $3.50. Rather the read it, I thought I’d just post some reviews from Amazon.
We received a copy of this book unsolicited in the mail from a group that calls itself “New Life and Hope” but is too cowardly to list anything but a PO Box.
It deserves no stars unless you’re the sort of person who likes to see yet another group of wackos using the death of a lot of innocent people on 9-11 to promote their own agendas. Something they have in common with the terrorists.
It follows up with a section on how the Pope is “The first beast” (not any specific pope, mind you), which is sure to entertain Catholics the world over.
Only a idiot would give these fools any of their money, but the world is full of such idiots who think that 3.50 will buy them some sort of secret truth.
No stars for this book. It’s crappily written in addition to everything else.
And they really don’t like us Catholics.
This book provides an interesting look at the world from a Seventh Day Adventist point of view.
The book focuses on the identification of the beast described in Rev. 13; you know the one who prevents buying or selling by everyone who is not marked by the number 666. It identifies the beast as none other than the pope (actually all popes), based on a numerical calculation of “Vicarius Filii Dei” which it claims is a papal title. It goes on to say that the Catholic Church changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday (it in fact did) and re-numbered the 10 commandments.
The entire aim of the book is to convince the reader that world leaders will conspire with the pope to pass a “National Sunday Law” that requires all to worship on Sunday and therefore submit to the beast. Then the Second Coming?
The book is chock full of Bible verses, footnotes, diagrams, and calculations. I really was about to become scared — but then something struck me from high school Latin; “Vicarius Filii Dei” didn’t look right. It is supposed to mean “Vicar of the Son of God,” but wouldn’t that be “Vicarius de Filium Dei?” Heck, that’s 1169 not 666. Suspecting a rat, I checked a list of papal titles, and the only title resembling the one sited is “Vicarius Christi” (Vicar of Christ — adds to 208 if your counting).
Needless to say, I didn’t buy the author’s other arguments either.
I recommend reading this book to gain an insight into the beliefs of the Seventh Day Adventists, and to understand why they dislike the Catholic Church, most other Protestant denominations, and especially the papacy.
Save yourself the 4 bucks though, the Adventists hand these out like candy in major airports!

I dont Know when this article was written but from what I know now, the new pope’s signature on his robe is Written Vicarrius Filii Dei, which ofcourse amount to 666.
I am pushed to believe that this article was written before this new pope and which would be why the misunderstanding. Please do read the books of Daniel and Revelation yourself, regard not what the SDA’s are saying or have said; ask God to give you understanding for yourself and I promise he will take you seriously and you will find the answers yourself ( with God’s help, ofcourse!)
about the Adventists hating the Catholics, well thats not true at all and I pray you get away from that notion. We do not hate the Catholics, we are just stating what the bible is saying so everyone can know what is taking place and waht is about to take place in the world.
It will be tragic one day when the National Sunday Law is passed and you see a lot of people being persecuted because of not wanting to adhere to ehat The leaders with the Pope have requuired that they do ,forcefully.
I move that you start searching the scriptures so, if(and I truly believe it is)it’s true, you may not be found in the dark.

I got this book, whats funny is I been studying “World History”, “Current world affairs” and “Bible prophecy” for awhile now. I would have to say that every thing I have read in this book is VERY TRUE! I’m not sure about Sunday being the “mark of the beast”, it could be, very possible, Saturday is the true sabbath. I know the “mark of the beast” is going to be something like this. Either a mandatory Sunday law or the “Verichip”. How ever, it’s coming so you should all be on the look out. Don’t be full of ego and pride that will keep you blind. This book makes a LOT of sense!

I read through the EWTN - Catholic TV- earlier this year and was not surprised to find, among other things, that included in Benedict’s prayers for 2009 is a general prayer for October “that Sunday may be lived as the day on which Christians gather to celebrate the risen Lord, participating in the Eucharist.” Which, as anyone who studies the Bible knows, is non’Biblical. If they did not have anything up their sleeves, why such a prayer? Why the push for Sunday sacredness in Croatia, Germany, Prince Edward Island etc.?
Open your eyes to what is happening around us and like one poster did, study Bible prophecies matching it with history (they did it before and they’ll do it again) and current events. ‘If we don’t know our past we won’t know our future’.
I wouldn’t be so quick to discard such information as rubbish if I were you. Retrieve that book, thank God that some stranger cared enough to share such vital info with you, read it, and for what it’s worth, watch events play out over the very near future. (And it wouldn’t kill to prepare for them also!!!) You don’t have to be an SDA or any christian for that matter to see the way this world is turning.

Its just unreal how true this is!!!!!! This past year i have really been studying the book of revelation and signs of the end time. If the Roman catholic church represents the first beast, and the second beast represents America. The 2nd beast- (it excersied all the authority of the first beast). Barack is deffinetly toying with sunday law! If so what will happen if we don’t abide to it? The bible says countless times and not only in the 10 commandments, REMEMBER the sabbath. He said remember because he knew we would forget! Remember! Also Barack is meeting this following week to discuss a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT! A future one world government is fortold in the bible. If a one world government is successful, then this would be the perfect time for the implementation of the sunday law. The mark of the beast. REMEMBER
I always hoped this prophecy was not true as a child in the SDA, then I left at 13, for 33 years I tried to live care free of this Biblical knowledge but as I saw the Sunday churches accepting so much in the form of world behavior and this matches with the church of Laodacia in Revelation…the lukewarm church. God will vomit them out..better to be hot or cold.
Look up the Catholic doctrine, they are more than honest in taking credit for having the power of God to change Gods laws. Please see Rev 22:18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
In studying I now see this prophecy as true, all prophecy has been true in the Bible, study Daniel and Revelation people. The SDA’s are simple, intelligent and kind people, the ones I know, they do not want this to happen, no human in their right mind could ever believe this could happen again but it will, the devil is able to disguise as an angel of light and he has the power to perform miracles,and the whole world will follow after the beast(the face the dragon or devil uses to exalt his power) as described in Revelation.
Why dont you believe it?

Written by Jamal. I want to point out that Obama is not toying with any notion of a Sunday Law. At least not based on the information posted above. You are referencing some one by the name of “Mike” who has a blog on his site. As for the Catholic Church changing the Sabbath Law to Sunday I learned in my confirmation class that the Catholic Church claims the act of changing Sabbath to Sunday as a sign of its authority and that the Pope is Christ on Earth which fits Bible prophecy for the anti christ.
Let’s see Catholic Church:
1) Financed Hitler (5 million Jews killed)
2) Changed the SABBATH Day to Sunday (Ladocia)
3) Incorporated a Sunday Holiday called Easter
4) Finaced the Slave trade (100 million Blacks/Afrikans killed or displaced)

Hi, even the history channel belives that the Pope is the beast represented in Revelation…Also, SDA do not hate Catholics we might dislike their teachings but we do not hate them.
Its more than the Sunday law; they can(Vatican) control by what we eat, see & hear. A fews month back when the Pope came to NY the front of the daily news was titled “god on earth”, if the pope is not the beast the who is? FYI, how can man forgive sin? He can’t! God is the only one who can forgive any man of there sin, not the Roman Catholic Church.
God’s church is identified in Revelation 12:17 “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ” & Revelation 19:10 says the “Testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Prophesy” there is only one church that fits that description and thats the SDA church(not trying to be boastful–sorry if it sounds like it). I’ll stand for truth if its not in the bible(KJV) I want no part of it.
