Sitting in the office about 45 minutes ago and after hearing 10 or so emergency vehicles head down Jefferson my secretary and I decided to go investigate. An accident had occurred on Ardmore, south of West Jefferson.
According to a witness we spoke with the car in front of her was heading south on Ardmore just past Washington Street when the vehicle sped up, and suddenly veered left towards a drainage ditch. As the vehicle exited the road and entered the ditch in flipped 180 degrees onto it’s top and landed upside down in about a foot of water.
The witness was the first on the scene and when she got to the victim she was apparently suffering from a seizure.
Update: The News Sentinel reported she was pronounced dead sometime before 10:15 a.m

The News-Sentinel website just reported the lady in the wreck died less than an hour after the accident.
