What about the two women that were killed Monday morning? Very young….the one had a restraining order against another woman that she had some kind of a tiff with at Pierre’s and there were also restraining orders against her. It appears to be a very scary time in Fort Wayne right now.

The funeral for Contrell Brown was packed full of young people, who according to the reverend that did the eulogy knew who it was who killed him, but no one is coming forward. I read all of the online articles this afternoon and was glad that I live over here in nowhere land, not that it can’t happen here too, but so far so good.

Who’s “they”? I’m sure you meant “we.” Because there is no “they.”

I would presume Dan means the gangs, since that is what all the newspaper articles are attributing these killings to, gang activity.

In no where land it can happen…..

In a recent conversation with a FWPD officer, there have been GPS systems placed on known gang member cars. The officers themselves were surprised at where the gang members went in the region….lets’ just say they did not stay in the southeast quadrant.

In can happen to anyone…..

There are a number of social workers, teachers, police officers, firefighters, etc. who work in the southeast quadrant, and if one of them is at the wrong place at the wrong time, it can be death. Many of our public service workers are in and out of these homes and are unarmed. The results can be very sad! I am hoping that when I am in the southeast quadrant to tutor a student, tomorrow, I am not the next victim!

Well, they’re starting to make my neighborhood feel safe. There’s only been four murders here (that I’m aware of), and that is over a period of several years. Of course, there have been a few attempted murders also. From the details that I am aware of, it would appear that the deaths (and the attempts) here are largely “business” related.

I don’t know what others mean when they refer to “them,” but from my point of view it is perfectly legitimate to classify a group of people who choose to engage in criminally reckless behavior. I personally knew one of “them” that was murdered last year. And it saddened me because I consider his mother and other members of his family to be good friends of mine.

But if someone is going to die, I have no hesitation in saying that I would rather “they” kill each other, than to kill one of “us” - meaning the innocent people that are forced to participate in their games.

I knew Contrell Brown personally he was a good friend of mine and my family me and my sisters and brothers grew up with him. I feel like he didn’t deserve what happened to him “gang member” as you say or not no young person deserves to die at a young age by anothers hands.

I really hate how everyone catergorizes him and all the others. Don’t call him a gang member call him “Contrell” thats the name he came into this world with and thats the name he left it with. They all where human beings just like everyone else and deserves the same amount of respect you would demand.

I didn’t like that “At this rate, maybe they’ll exterminate themselves.” remark because they were all someones children so don’t say that like you don’t care about other people dying because what if it was your child you would not be sayin the same thing i know. My Peers need help and guidence not death early.

And this is to the person who said some about the reverend sayin every young person at the funeral knew who killed “Trell” thats a bold face lie and if he said it he lied because i was there and I didn’t know and till this day still don’t. “Trell” has alot of people that love him and wont nothin more but justice for him and if we knew who did it trust they would not be walkin the streets free.
